To reassemble your iPhone 2G, simply reverse the instructions.
iPhone 2G Battery Replacement Summary:
Run the safe pry tool along the gap to remove the bottom piece of the iPhone cover. Once done, this will reveal small screws that need to be removed by a small Philip screw driver.
Once the screws are removed use the safe pry tool again and run it along the side of the iPhone to release the top part of the cover. Be careful when removing the case because it is still attached with the ribbon.
To release the back cover from the iPhone, you need to remove the ribbon. Use your finger or a safe pry tool to release this. To remove the antenna this is connecting three spots. You need a little bit force to release this using a safe open pry tool.
There are now few more small Philips screws to remove from the iPhone. Once the screws are removed you can now remove the motherboard from the iPhone.
Do it slowly as it is connected to the 4 ribbons. It is the jaw lock is needed to release before the cable will come out. Once done you can lift up and ease out the battery.
To remove the battery lift out the connections and release the battery. You can now replace the battery on your iPhone 2g.
