This video guide explains necessary steps to disassemble and replace the LCD and touch screen digitizer on the iPod Touch (iTouch) 4th Generation. - Safe Open Pry Tool
- Small Phillips
- Heat Gun/Hair Dryer

Using this summary in correlation with the video will insure proper instructions are given and a safe repair is made.
- Use a hot hair dryer or heat gun to heat the glass to warm the adhesive so can remove the front glass screen. Heat all the edges as this is where the screen is attached to the rest of the iPod.
- Use a safe pry tool to run along the glass and the plastic frame and ease up the glass screen. Lift from the bottom, as it still connected with ribbon cable to the top; disconnect the first ribbon cable using a pry tool. There will still be one other flex cable attached, leave this in place for now.
- Remove the small Phillip screws. Using a pry tool ease up the metal plate. Remove the screw from the motherboard using a small Phillips screwdriver.
- With the screw removed ease up the motherboard. Once lifted, you can release the pop connector of the screen .Once released you can remove the screen and replace it
