Blackberry Tour 9630 Take Apart Instructional Repair Guide

  • Remove the back cover of the phone also the battery and memory card. Turn the phone over and get a safe pry tool. Using the pry tool, get between the LCD and the top plastic cover to pry the plastic cover off.
  • Underneath the cover there are two Torx T6 screws which need to be removed with a Torx T6 screwdriver. Turn the phone over and remove four more T6 screws which are located near the middle and bottom part of the phone.
  • Remove the back casing of the phone to get access to the motherboard. Gently remove the pop ribbon cable on the bottom left corner using the safe pry tool.
  • Release the antenna cable in the same way as the pop ribbon connection. Release the 4 clips which are located near the middle and bottom part of the phone.
  • Ease the phone cover off. Ease the motherboard up but be careful as it is still connected by some flex ribbon cables underneath.
  • Using a safe pry tool, pry off the pop connector underneath the motherboard to release the LCD ribbon cables. Turn the phone over and gently pry the LCD screen using the safe pry tool.

Note: Some speakers may need to be raised, using adhesive, to give full contact with the connectors. You may attempt to re-use the previous adhesive from an old speaker, but fresh adhesive is recommended.
